NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The man who recently took over as Manager of New Hanover County Emergency Management is off the job.
The county dismissed Frank Hackett today.
Hackett was arrested for DWI on April 6.
In a news release, the county says “the decision to dismiss Mr. Hackett was made based on court records received yesterday that provided additional facts about the details of the incident. It became apparent that Mr. Hackett failed to disclose significant information and misrepresented facts about the incident to his supervisor, including the availability of the blood test results.”
Hackett’s first day with the county was November 22, 2016.
Hackett was still in his introductory employment period with the county when he was dismissed.
